PPT Trainer: Dennis Albright
Dennis has been involved in the fitness industry in Howard County for the past thirteen years. Eight years ago, Dennis's passion for personal training led him to open Performance Private Training, a personal training studio, in order to provide personal training to clients that want a more relaxed and intimate setting. Dennis enjoys working with clients to set specific goals to enhance their fitness program. He has worked with clients as young as twelve, and as seasoned as eighty-five. Getting to know each client on a personal level allows a unique perspective of both the physical and personal needs of each and every client. This connection with his clients is what keeps them coming back year after year.
Dennis is also a very active volunteer with the Howard County Striders and you can find him working behind the scenes at most of the running or biking events around the Columbia area. He has also volunteered for several other organizations including the Ride Across Maryland to benefit breast cancer research, The Kidney Foundation, and The American Heart Association.
Another cool fact: Dennis had earned "Honorable Mention" in the Howard County Flier for 2010 Best Fitness Trainer (A voting campaign by his 8 & 10 year old daughters? Maybe?).
Enthusiasm, expertise and safety are certainly evident in Dennis's training focus. He is one of the most sought after fitness trainers in Columbia.
As part of his own fitness routine, Dennis enjoys running and both road and mountain biking. To date, Dennis has participated in the JFK fifty-miler four times, as well as several other ultra-marathons. He is always looking to challenge his mind and body through new interesting and exciting running challenges. It would not be unusual to see him run by in a Scottish Kilt at the St. Patrick's Day race every March in downtown Baltimore. On rare days where he has a few minutes away from the gym, you will find Dennis on a bike trail in the woods jumping logs and trying out new downhills. In the gym, Dennis enjoys teaching cycling class three days a week to clients who want to change-up their routine and add in a cycling challenge. His own experiences with cycling make spin classes all the more motivating!
